After last year lockdown, the Bollywood industry began to shoot for films with minimum staff. This year many new films were announced and they started rolling also. Every precaution was taken, still many of the Bollywood stars and makers were tested positive in last few months. Maharashtra is the most effected state and cases are continuously rising. Maharashtra being the entertainment city has recently reported more Bollywood stars that have tested positive. Previous year Big B Amitabh Bachchan, Abhishek Bachchan, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and singer Kanika Kapoor were diagnosed with the virus and this year the number of stars who got in contact with virus are Akshay Kumar, Vicky Kaushal, Bhumi Pednekar, Amir Khan, Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt and many others.
Akshay Kumar is one of the actors, who started shooting for the films very early after lockdown was removed. He was shooting back-to-back for number of films and recently he announced that he has been tested positive for COVID-19. The news was shared by the actor, just five days after commencing the shooting of his film ‘Ram Setu’. Apart from Akshay other forty five members of the film have also been tested positive. For precaution, he has been admitted to a city hospital. On his social media account, he thanked the people and fans for recovery wishes. He said that the wishes of the people are working and hope to come back soon. However the shooting has been put on hold as most of the crew members and artists have been tested positive. Soon after this news, Bhumi Pednekar took her Insta account to share that she has mild symptoms of COVID-19 and has been tested positive. Updating about her health, she said that she is feeling well and home quarantined. She is following all the protocols and taking advice of doctors and health professionals. She requested all the people who were in her contact to get tested. Speaking on the present situation she mentioned that it is very tough situation, inspite of taking all care and precaution, they got infected. She requested the people to wear mask, sanitize hands and maintain social distancing. Bhumi was currently working on Shashank Khaitan’s Dharma Productions film ‘Mr. Lele’. The other actor form the movie Vicky Kaushal also got infected from the virus and was tested positive. He shared the news on his social media account stating that inspite of all necessary precautions, he has been tested positive. She requested all to get tested who were in contact with him and stay safe.
Actor-director Seema Pahwa and singer Abhijeet Sawant were also tested positive. Earlier famous TV actor Rupali Ganguly also tested positive and she is recovering. To fight with the situation, the government has imposed lockdown and markets, shopping malls, theatres, clubs, water parks have been shut till April 30. Meanwhile most of the Bollywood stars also have taken their vaccinations and are staying inside their homes.
